The name Rhodochrosite comes from the Greek "Rhodes" rose.

Pearly luster, it has a trigonal-hexagonal crystallization.

It is of volcanic origin and the best known mine is Mina Sierras Capillitas at 3,000 meters high in the province of Catamarca, Argentina.

Recognized as the gem of vitality and understanding of the different situations of life.

 It is the gemstone of altruism.

The natural fragance of this gemstone is the Myrrh essential oil.

Belongs to the third chakra, called in Sanskrit "Manipura" city of jewels, situated above the navel, below the chest.
